A Little About Me

I've wanted to be a singer ever since I was 12 years old - it's always been in my blood. I participated in the choir in all throughout school, and took advantage of all the competitions. I had everything planned... then life got in the way. I had to give up my dream to tend to my family. For ten long years, I put everything on hold because I had responsibilities to tend to, and music just wouldn't fit into the scheme of things.

After the divorce, it took me a couple of years to get back on my feet. I then revisited that dream that had been on the back-burner for so many years. I hadn't performed in front of audiences for a long time, so I got my feet wet and participated in local talent competitions, with a fair amount of success.

I became a professional singer in 2005, and booked gigs at a local restaurant in Vandalia. Not having any original material, I always sang cover tunes. I also cut my first demo, entitled "Colors in Motion," in April, 2005. It was a compilation of 5 cover songs, and I used it to get the feel of recording.

2006 was the turning point for me. I began to write my own music, but I struggled so much with it, I never thought I would complete one song. With the help of a good friend, he gave me the inspiration to write from a different place, and now the music is just flowing. I have nine original songs that will be included on the new CD, which I'm hoping to release in 2010.
